What do rich people have in common? Years ago, one journalist found one key trait that the wealthy share: decisiveness.
“Analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million dollar mark disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching decisions promptly,” wrote Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich. The book lists 13 steps toward getting rich, and lists the ability to change decisions when needed, or “mastery of procrastination” as the book refers to it, as number seven, according to Business Insider’s Kathleen Elkins.
Some other valuable advice provided by Hill in his 1937 classic book includes warning readers that their actions speak louder than their words. Hill suggests showing the world what you are going to do before telling them. However, these are not the only traits shared by millionaires. Elkins notes that other research has found these qualities include rising early, exercising regularly, and befriending the successful.
